News: Walmart plans to remove college degree requirements

Recently, Walmart announced that it will rewrite hundreds of job descriptions to allow applicants to show either a college degree or that they gained skills through prior experience or other types of learning. The move adds one of the largest U.S. employers to a growing number of employers that are removing degree requirements for jobs in fields such as cybersecurity, data analytics and operations.

Walmart also noted that it is investing philanthropic funds into building a stronger skills-based hiring ecosystem and infrastructure, including a $5 million grant via Walmart.org to SkillsFWD.
